【摘要】:Thismethodisintendedtoevaluatefilamentsforsuitabilityofuseinpaintbrushespriortomanufacture.Filamentfractureresistanceisveryimportantbecausepaintbrushesarebentorflexedduringpaintinganditisnecessarythatthefilamentsarenotpermanentlydeformedwithusage.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingthenumberoffracturespresentwhenpaintbrushfilamentsarebent.1.2Thismethodisapplicableonlytomonofilamentswithconsistentlongitudinalcrosssectionaldimensionscommonlyreferredtoasx201C;levelx201D;filaments.1.3Thevaluesderivedareinpercentfracturedfilaments.Forexample,2fracturedoutof18filamentstested=or11%.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
